Our Garden 2015- Radish Harvest

Our Garden 2015-Update Radishes

Click on the photo to enlarge

We harvested some beautiful radishes yesterday and I just wanted to share the bounty with all of you.  The ones on the left are French Breakfast Radishes; they are about 3 inches long, tri-colored, mild in flavor, and have a creamy interior.  The ones on the right are Cherry Belle Radishes; traditional looking radish, sharp flavor, and they also have a creamy interior.

These radishes are from the heirloom seed collection that we purchased earlier this summer.  Mark and Danielle built more garden beds and sowed these seeds on 8 August, you can read about it here in my last Garden Update post.  After I took this photo, we washed off a few of these babies and munched them with some delicious whole wheat bread. Enjoy!

  1. Sorry for late response. This is actually a asian cuisine recipe.
    You will need
    Thinly sliced radish 2
    Sliced small onion 1
    Green chili 2-3
    Fennel seed 1/4 tsp
    Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
    Chili powder 1/2 tsp
    Cumin powder 1 tsp
    Salt to taste
    Oil 1 tbsp
    Mustard 1/8 tsp
    Thick Coconut milk 1 cup
    Thin coconut milk 1 cup
    Curry leaves 2-3

In a pan add oil and mustard, then add small amount of sliced onion and curry leaves ,temper until it turns golden Brown. Then add the spices , salt, fennel seed and radish. Mix well and cook for 5 mints. Now add the thin coconut milk and cover with a lid, let it cook for 10-15 minutes until wel cooked. Finally add the thick milk and bring to a boil and turn off the flame.
If u want u can reduce the milk amount.
As per ur taste u can adjust chili and cumin powder.

    1. My goodness, that sounds delicious. I am not a big fan of curry, but the rest of it sounds great, and something that I’ve never heard of before. I’m anxious to try it. Thank you so very much and please thank your Mom as well.
